SWEATER WITH RIDGES

Any baby yarn - but not fingering yarn
Size 5 needles
Abbreviations
K = knit Sts = stitches BO = bind off tog = together

BODY

Cast on 60 stitches. Knit every row until measures 4 inches.
Knit 17 sts then put on stitch holder. (front) Knit next 26 sts. (back) Put remaining 17 sts on a stitch holder (front)

BACK

Cast on 22 sts on both sides (sleeves) Knit until sleeves measure 2 inches. Knit 30 sts, BO 10 sts, knit 30 sts. Next row - knit across to last 2 sts, k2tog. Turn and BO remaining sts. Join yarn at other sleeve side at neck edge. K2tog, knit across. Turn and BO remaining sts.

FRONT

Pick up 17 sts from one stitch holder. Make sure sts on the needle facing you are purl sts.
Join yarn from front edge and knit across, cast on 22 sts (sleeve) Make sure sleeve side is the same as the back. Continue to knit each row until sleeve measures 1 ½ inches. At right side (straight side) BO 5 sts, knit to end. Turn and knit to end. At right side (straight side) BO 4 sts, knit to end. Turn and BO remaining sts, leave about 7 inches of cut off yarn to use to sew top of sleeve later.
Make other sleeve as above but make sure sleeve side is same as the back.
Sew seams for top and bottom of sleeves.

NECKBAND

Pick up 34 sts. K 2 rows. At right side k1, *YO, k2tog, repeat from * to end, k1.(eyelet row) Knit next 2 rows. BO across
Make a crochet chain 25" to 27" long. Weave through the eyelet and tie in a bow.
You may also use a ribbon as a tie.
